Goya and Fuendetodos. Aragon. Spain.

Francisco de Goya y Lucientes nacio el 30 de marzo de 1746 en Fuendetodos (Zaragoza).

En 1913, el pinto Ignacio Zuloaga visitó el pueblo acompañado por un grupo de amigos para descubrir una lápida conmemorativa esculpida por Dionisio Lasuén.

En 1916, el pintor Ignacio Zuloaga adquiere la casa natal de Goya. El 8 de octubre de 1917 tenía lugar en fuendetodos la instalación de la Casa Museo de Goya costeada por el pintor vasco.

En 1920 se descubrío en la plaza de la iglesia un busto de Goya realizado por el escultor Julio Antonio.

Enclavada en la parte baja de Fuendetodos, en el numero 15 de la calle de la Alhóndiga esta casa pertenecía a la familia de la madre de Goya. La casa decorada con reproducciones de obras goyescas y seleccionadas cerámicas fue saqueada en los inicios de la Guerra Civil.

En 1982 alcanzó la categoría de Monumento Histórico Artístico, en el mes de abril de 1989 se inauguró en Fuendetodos el Museo del Grabado de Goya: Los Caprichos (4ª edición de 1863) y los Desastres de la Guerra (la edición de 1863).

Este museo es visitable en invierno de 11 a 14 horas y de 15 a 18 horas, en verano de 11 a 14 horas y de 16 a 19 horas (los lunes permanece cerrado por descanso semanal). Teléfono 976 143830.

La plaza que da frente a su fachada principal ha sido completada con otro busto de Goya, obra del escultor turolense Gonzalvo inaugurada el 16 de abril de 1978 con motivo del 150 aniversario de la muerte del pintor en Burdeos.
