MUDEJAR in TERUEL
The Mudejar were the Musulmans that stayed under Christian dominance after the
Spanish Reconquest (XI - XVI) until their mandatory conversion in 1526.
These kernels of population created their own
neighborhoods, call Jewrys or morerķas, in the cities and their Mosques
were converted in Churches.
Thus began a new architectural style
been born of the Islamic inheritance and of the Musulman and Christian
contributions.
