Aragon, land of contrasts, occupies an area of 47,669 sq. km. evenly divided between the provinces of Huesca, Zaragoza and Teruel. Situated in the North East of the Iberian peninsula, Aragon boeders with France, Catalunya, Levante, Castilla - La Mancha, la Rioja and Navarra.

It is united morphologically and structurally by the Ebro Valley, with the Pyrenees to the North and the Iberian mountain range to the South. The Ebro Depression embraces more than 50 % of Aragon and good of the life of the region takes place within it.

The Pyrenees, to the North of region, without doubt form the most important mountainous area in all Aragon. Between the high range and the foothills are the lower Pyrenees, with Loarre, Guara and Naval, which, standing at a height of about 2,000 m. can offer us the impressive landscapes of the Mallos de Riglos, Agüero, and the canons and gorges of the river Vero. To the South and West of the region we find the Iberian range, with the Maestrazgo, Albarracin, Gudar, Montes Universales and Moncayo, where the beeches and oaks grow alongside the wild pines, and whosw woods there are interesting species such as deer, wild deer, wild boar and squirrels.
